Focus Circles, the study group feature that actually keeps you accountable
Study together with friends in real time. Shared timers, floating avatars, and XP for those who finish.
Study groups do not work for most people. You arrange to meet, someone cancels, the conversation drifts, and two hours later you have talked about everything except what you came to study.
Focus Circles are different.
A Focus Circle in LuneX is a real time study session shared between 2 and 8 people. The host creates the circle, sets the duration, invites friends, and when everyone is ready, a 3-2-1 countdown begins and all timers start simultaneously.
During the session, you can see everyone's avatars around a shared ring. You can send preset prompts (Keep going, Almost there, Let us go) but you cannot chat freely. This is deliberate. The session is for focus, not conversation.
XP is only awarded to people who complete the full session. If you leave early, you get partial XP based on how far you got. If only one person remains, the circle automatically ends. There is no benefit to staying in a circle alone. The accountability only works when the group works together.
The pause system adds another layer of social accountability. Any member can request a pause, but it only activates if enough of the group agrees, 75% for larger groups. One person cannot derail everyone else's session.
After the circle ends, results are saved to everyone's history. The circle persists. The same group can start again without recreating everything from scratch.
